Biography
I’m interested in real world applications of academic research, what sorts of innovations have commercial potential and how we can ensure the smooth progression of lab/clinical research through to industrial development and commercialisation; the ultimate aim being to develop new medicines and technologies for the benefit of human health and society.
I’ve worked for over a decade in technology transfer, first at University of Birmingham before moving to London where I worked at LifeArc for 5 years and subsequently for UCL Business for a further 5 years. My roles involved the evaluation and IP protection of novel innovations; facilitating strategic partnerships with industry; and executing licencing transactions and the formation of university spinouts.
I have a strong foundation in biology with a degree in genetics, a PhD in immunology and post-doctoral experience in virology, cancer and the immune system.
I am excited to find out about all the innovative research taking place in Glasgow. If you’re a researcher in Life Sciences working on something that may possibly have commercial potential, please do get in touch with me, I’d love to begin a conversation with you and find out more about your work and ambitions.
