CEES Students run their own student society, GU Central and Eastern European Society, which aims to promote knowledge about the politics and culture of Central and Eastern Europe by hosting events to engage, encourage and interest students.

Politics
Glasgow University Politics Society is an independent student-run organisation which aims to create a social network for students studying or interested in politics; to improve relations between students; and to provide a forum for discussion and debate. The fundamental characteristic of the Politics Society is its unaffiliation with any party or position. The Society welcomes every opinion and viewpoint, followers of any ideology or party affiliation, or lack thereof, as diversity furthers debate and discourse. The Politics Society holds informal meetings in a local pub every week and organise both academic and social events throughout the year.
