Biography

My doctoral thesis seeks to understood how young people of colour explore and respond to structures of 'race' and racism in Scottish secondary schools. My master's degree looked at feelings on (un)belonging among Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children with regards to state education policies. During my thesis, I have been an antiracist employability lead across Glasgow, and I currently hold posts within the university's Student Learning Development team. Prior to arriving in Glasgow, I was a secondary school Geography teacher for five years and a pastoral head for sixth form in London. Additionally, I taught in various French overseas départements for three years and in Australia for one. My undergraduate dissertation evaluated methods for reconstructing palaeoclimate through tree rings, in order to better forecast climate fluctuations.
