Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Glasgow's School of Social and Political Sciences. Formerly, I was an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Houston. I received my Ph.D. in political science from Rutgers University. My work can be found in the British Journal of Political Science, Economics & Politics,  International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, the Journal of Peace Research, and the Journal of Politics, among other outlets.

 

Research interests

My research focuses on:

  • international relations
  • the political economy of conflict processes
  • politics of international finance and debt
  • the international politics of state capacity
  • leaders and international relations 
  • domestic politics of international relations
  • statistical and causal inference.
