Biography

I am a historian of industrialisation and technological change. I am interested in understanding the impacts of new technologies on employment and wages, and have written about the 18th/19th century British cotton industry in particular. I am currently working on a monograph on Richard Arkwright and the development of the early cotton spinning industry in Britain. I am also interested in the development of the textile industry in its global context. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 2022.
