Purpose of Visit: The purpose of the visit includes participating in the School’s research and dissemination activities and research meetings. Yusuf will give talks at the Urban Studies about his recent research and teaching experience. He will also work with Dr Bilge Serin on a position paper for a special issue that they co-edit and further work on a grant application on urban inequality and social justice.
Bio: Yusuf Yüksekdağ is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Communication, Istanbul Bilgi University. He works and teaches in the fields of applied ethics, political philosophy and media studies. He has worked on migration ethics in particular, and recently he is concerned with the ethics of/on urban space, smart city and datafication ethics. He received his PhD in 2019 from the Department of Culture and Society, Linköping University, Sweden and later worked as a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Bern for a year before joining Istanbul Bilgi University.
