Carbon reduction, older tenements and the retrofit challenge in Glasgow
Public Meeting
Tuesday 9 November, 17:30 - 19:00
Queen's Park Govanhill Church of Scotland, 170 Queen's Drive, Glasgow
Are you concerned about climate change? Do you want to learn about how we can reduce carbon emission by retrofitting Glasgow's pre-1919 tenement blocks?
You are invited to join a public meeting to discuss and learn more about the ongoing refurbishment of an eight-property tenement block on Niddrie Road, Glasgow. You can expect to:
- hear directly from the key project partners, including Southside Housing Association, Glasgow City Council, John Gilbert Architects, CCG (Scotland) Ltd., and the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE)
- ask questions and share ideas on the scalability and replicability of the lessons learned from this demonstration project for Glasgow's wider pre-1919 tenement stock
- be among the first to view a new short film about the project
This event is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2021 and was made possible thanks to funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
