The Credit Crunch and the Scottish Housing System
This paper provides a clear description and analysis of the causes of the credit crunch and its consequences for housing and mortgages. It examines the main housing-relevant ways in which the UK and Scottish governments have responded to the crisis. It considers them main ways in which the crunch impacts on Scottish housing and what this will mean for the sector. The report concludes by discussing policy options here and around the world – both in terms of symptomatic policies aimed at alleviating the crisis as well more long term structural or causal policy proposals.
