Abstract
Based on the book China’s Remarkable Economic Growth by Sai Ding and John Knight, published by Oxford University Press in 2012, Sai examines the prospects for the Chinese economy and analyzes the reasons behind its recent economic slowdown. She will explore both the immediate challenges to reviving strong growth and the deeper structural issues that could impede China’s long-term economic trajectory. Given China’s pivotal role in the global economy, she will also discuss the broader implications, for both the developing and developed countries.
