Historic and International Theory (HINT)
Historic and International Theory (HINT)
Established nine years ago and an active presence in Politics at Glasgow ever since, HINT is a broadly based research cluster that brings together researchers with an interest in the intersection between International Relations and Political Theory. Within this broad field, it promotes empirically informed theoretical work with a particular emphasis on the study of contemporary conflict and its normative dimensions. What will warfare and violent conflict look like in the 21st century, and what challenges will it pose in terms of ethics and global governance? HINT is primarily but not exclusively comprised by scholars working in the field of International Relations, Political Theory, Political Philosophy, and the History of Political Thought.

Seminars & meetings
We organise a Politics seminar each semester, and the members of the cluster meet once a month. We also hold smaller group meeting to discuss matters of common interest including early versions of academic papers and grant applications.
