The Centre for Business History in Scotland welcomes new staff members to Economic & Social History and news of existing staff members.
2020
Sean Vanatta joined Economic & Social History department as Lecturer in US Economic & Social History at the beginning of August 2020. Sean Vanatta, has worked primarily on the history of US banking and consumer credit to date.
Angela Romano joined us with a joint appointment with Politics and Economic & Social History as Lecturer in International Political Economics on 1 May 2020. Angela Romano's, specialty is business and European integration and business, economy, and the Cold War.
Ewan Gibbs joined Economic & Social History department as Lecturer in Global Economies mid-February 2020. Ewan Gibbs is a comparative historian of economic, business, and labour history.
The Centre for Business History in Scotland are delighted to announce the upgrade to Professor of Jim Phillips, Duncan Ross and Nial MacKenzie. We are also delighted to announce the upgrade of Christopher Miller.
2019
Hannah-Louise Clark joined Economic & Social History department as Lecturer in Global Economic & Social History at the beginning of January 2019. Hannah-Louise Clark is a global historian of medicine, business, and the economy specialising in the Middle East and North Africa.
The Centre for Business History in Scotland would like to thank Professor Mike French and Sean Johnston, who both retired in 2019, for their many contributions to the intellectual life of the Centre over the course of several years. They remain Associates, and we look forward to seeing them from time to time and wish them well in their retirement.
2018
Helen Yaffe joined Economic & Social History department as Lecturer in Economic & Social History at the beginning of January 2018. Helen Yaffe is an expert on Cuba and Latin American economic and business history
Chris Miller, a specialist in the business and technology of war and defence, made the transition from Research Associate to full-time Lecturer in 2018/19.
