  • Lithuanian cultural events - 'Place of Action: Lithuania'
    In October 2007 the University of Glasgow will host a series of Lithuanian cultural events and a joint academic-practitioner Round Table forum for discussion on the Kaliningrad Region after EU enlargement.

    The Rt. Hon. George Reid, Visiting Professor to the Faculty of Law Business and Social Sciences has a keen interest and experience in Central Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union. On 2nd October 2007 he gave the following speech at the opening of the School of Conflict Resolution of the Foreign Policy Association of Moldova, Chisinau, Moldova.

  • Workshop: Security of Energy Supply in the New Europe - A Challenge for the European Neighbourhood Policy
    The Security of Energy Supply workshop is organised by Anke Schmidt-Felzmann and Valentina Feklyunina (Department of Politics, University of Glasgow). The workshop serves to promote discussion and exchange of ideas on the European Union's European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), which sets out to reduce the risks of dependency on supplies of oil and gas from the Russian Federation by enhancing its strategic energy partnerships with the neighbouring countries important for the production or transit of energy.
