Human Rights, Democracy and Global Governance
We have established expertise on human rights, democratic processes and global governance. Much of this work seeks to bring together civil society, local authorities, the private sector, governments and communities and explore these issues through a collaborative approach.
This includes Bernard Reinsberg’s research in international development and contemporary foreign aid practices, Jane Duckett’s research in the Scottish Centre for China Research including their work on the Chinese Government’s response to COVID-19, Mo Hume’s work on peace and reconciliation in Colombia and the Columbian River Project; Beatrice Heuser’s work exploring a global history of political strategy and Tim Peace's work on governance and the local integration of migrants.
