Mark will sit as a member on Panel C, Sub-panel 13 Architecture, Built Environment and Planning
Congratulations to our Ian Mctaggart Chair in Land, Property and Urban Studies, Professor Mark Stephens, who has been appointed as a member in the REF 2021 Panel C, Sub-panel 13 Architecture, Built Environment and Planning.
Mark is one of over 400 new members, assessors and specialist advisers who have been appointed to the REF sub-panels, following a nomination process earlier this year. The new panellists include leading researchers from across a range of universities in the UK and further afield.
The REF is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. It first took place in 2014. It is undertaken by the four UK higher education funding bodies: the Scottish Funding Council , Research England, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, and the Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland.
The 34 expert sub-panels will carry out the detailed assessment of submissions between May 2021 and February 2022, working under the guidance of four main panels.
