Head of School, Professor Michele Burman, has been conferred as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences
Huge congratulations to our Head of School and Professor of Criminology, Michele Burman, who has been conferred as a Fellow by the Academy of Social Sciences. After an extensive peer review Michele has been recognised for the impact of her work through the use of social science for public benefit.
The Academy of Social Sciences is the national academy of academics, learned societies and practitioners in the social sciences. Its aim is to promote social science in the UK for the public benefit. The Academy is composed of over 1300 individual Fellows. Fellows are distinguished scholars and professional practitioners from academia and the public and private sectors.
On receiving the fellowship Michele said 'I am honoured and absolutely delighted to be conferred as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, alongside many distinguished colleagues. I look forward to working together with the Academy to highlight and celebrate the central importance of social sciences in understanding and navigating our complex world.'
