Meet our John Smith Centre interns!
The John Smith Centre is proud to have launched its Parliamentary Internship Programme. Designed to address the inequality of opportunity in access to internship work experience opportunities, the Parliamentary Internship Programme has been made possible by generous funding from Community Trade Union, and pays interns above the national living wage for much sought after work experience with MSPs.
The Programme arose from a desire to create hands-on learning opportunities for University of Glasgow students to engage in frontline public service roles, and to provide a platform from which young people can examine and evaluate the role of public servants and elected representatives.
Four undergraduate students from SPS have been recruited and placed with host MSPs from the Glasgow area. The participating host MSPs are Humza Yousaf MSP (SNP), Patrick Harvie MSP (Scottish Greens), Adam Tomkins MSP (Scottish Conservatives) and Anas Sarwar MSP (Scottish Labour).
Well done and good luck to our four interns!
