Council for European Studies 24th International Conference of Europeanists
The School of Social and Political Sciences is proud to be hosting the Council for European Studies 24th International Conference of Europeanists on 12 - 14 July 2017.
The conference will bring together a wide range of experts to present and debate new research on critical and current topics such as Brexit, immigration, the stability of the Eurozone, the resurgence of populist political movements, and the opportunities and challenges of technological advances in artificial intelligence and data gathering.
Keynote speakers include Lord Jack McConnell, former First Minster of Scotland, and Judy Dempsey, Senior Associate at Carnegie Europe. The discussant for the event is Anand Menon, Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at Kings College London. Other programme highlights include a civic reception at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, a symposium on building bridges between culture, policy and shifts of thought that bring about lasting transformation, and the EuropeNow film festival.
Registration for the concert is available on the CES website. For those not able to register or attend the entire conference, there will still be opportunities to participate such as attending the film festival at the CCA, and the roundtable on Borders post-Brexit, sponsored by the European Parliament Information Office. It will be moderated by Kirsty Hughes of the Scottish Centre for European Research. For details on how to attend the roundtable please contact Dr Eamonn Butler.
