Many organisations in the public and third sectors, as well as SMEs and businesses are in need of good quality research, and master's students are often eager to gain 'real life' work experience and to conduct research which has immediate relevance to the world beyond academia. The collaborative masters dissertations initiative, developed and piloted through CEES in 2010-11 aims to make opportunities for collaborative research available to MSc students and GRAMNet knowledge exchange partners.
6 projects have been ongoing over the summer of 2011 and will lead to one-month internships for the students in October, when they will be converting their dissertation findings into policy reports, executive summaries, web resources and other outputs needed by the partner organisations.

The projects, their findings and outputs will be showcased at a Degree Show 3 - 5 pm on 5th October 2011, venue tbc
For further details of this year’s projects and for details of the continuation and extension of the initiative next year with opportunities for students from a range of PGT programmes in the School of Social and Political Sciences, please see http://www.gla.ac.uk/research/az/gramnet/collaborativemastersdissertationsinitiative/
