Confidence in the School of Social & Political Sciences
What do we mean by confidence?
The School of Social & Political Sciences seeks to inspire and empower confidence in our students, especially with respect to their core skills and beliefs.
At the heart of our goal to champion confidence in our students is the promotion of greater self-awareness and self-reflection as a means to improve relationships, increase motivation and encourage positivity.
How you'll learn and building your confidence
We use a variety of teaching methods and encourage learning through assessments. Assessment is usually not by exam and instead takes multiple forms, focusing on critical reflection and analysis.
Teaching style varies from lectures to one-to-one supervision and peer learning with assessments taking shape as critical essays, presentations, policy briefs, data reports and dissertations.
International student learning support
Through the College of Social Sciences, international students can participate in a range of tailored classes and activities to help build your confidence with key academic skills.
