Our Sustainable Tourism & Global Challenges programme will enable you to critically examine policies and practices for the management of sustainable tourism and how these can be used to address environmental and cultural issues. There are a number of interesting roles and entrepreneurial opportunities within tourism in the public and private sectors, as well as in consultantacny for business, local, national or international Government teams and on planning bodies (such as the UN's World Tourism Organization or the World Travel and Tourism Organization).

Consultancy, Government and Research
- Sustainability Officer / Corporate Responsibility Making sure businesses, organisations or coorporations work and behave in an ethical, sustainable, or environementally consious way.
- Enterprise adviser / Business Advisor Give advice and support to new business start-ups and help established businesses to grow in a sustainable way.
- Economic Development Officer Support local organisations, Government, or established companies to set up businesses in an area to create new jobs, facilities and growth.
Tourism and Heritage
- Heritage Officer Support organisations or Government to take care of buildings, monuments and places valued for their cultural and historical importance.
- Visitor Attraction Manager Manage and run the operation and finances of an attraction, and the health and safety of staff and visitors.

Fransiska's Story
Born and raised in a small town in Central Java, Fransiska is now living in Glasgow, Scotland, having graduated with Distinction from the University of Glasgow with her MSc Sustainable Tourism & Global Challenges. She has recently been awarded the Geographies of Leisure and Tourism Research Group Dissertation Prize for her Postgraduate thesis.
