Research interests

Lawrence Barsalou received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego in 1977, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford University in 1981. Before coming to the University of Glasgow, he held faculty positions at Emory University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the University of Chicago. Barsalou's research addresses the nature of the human conceptual system from the perspective of grounded cognition, using methods from cognitive science and neuroscience. His recent research also addresses issues and applications in health cognition from the grounded perspectivve.
