About the School of Psychology & Neuroscience
As psychologists and neuroscientists we work together to make links between the mind and the nervous system via our world-class research, teaching and innovation. We address major scientific questions extending from the molecular level, through neuronal circuits, to behaviour. We aim to increase our understanding of the scientific foundations of behaviour, and thereby contribute to the global effort to improve human health and wellbeing.
Location
The School of Psychology & Neuroscience conducts research activities across four main sites across the Unviersity of Glasgow main campus and Garscube campus as well as and in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Our Research
We group our research into Centres and Themes. Centres are organised according to our infrastructure (such as brain scanners or electrophysiology) and themes are organised according to research questions, which span multiple methodologies. We undertake extensive postgraduate research training also. We take an open science approach that values transparency and sharing of data.
Our research output is rated as world-class, being rated 4th in the UK and 1st in Scotland in the last national REF research assessment exercise.
If you would like to contribute to our research effort by participating in an experiment please visit the link below.
Our Teaching
We teach psychology and neuroscience programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We develop critical evaluation skills as well as an understanding of the importance of open research. We also develop graduate skills for the wider work environment. All of our single and joint honours psychology undergraduate programmes and our MSc conversion programmes are accredited by the British Psychological Society.
We also undertake pedagogical research, using our psychology expertise to better understand how students learn, and how we can enhance our teaching.
Our teaching is rated as world-class, being rated in the top 100 worldwide in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, as well as 4th in the UK in the Guardian Best Universities for Psychology league table.
