SMT Remit
The remit of the SMT is to review, monitor and make decisions relating to all aspects of the management, operation and strategic direction of the School.

SMT MEMBERS
Professor David Ireland
As the Head of School I chair the School Management Team (SMT). I set the agendas for the SMT meetings, and review the actions.
Professor Lyndsay Fletcher
I’m a Professor of Astrophysics and also Chair of the Astronomy Exam Board, so though I don’t have a specific role on the SMT (having joined as a “Minister without Portfolio”) I bring the perspective of our students on Astronomy courses. I also bring to the discussion my experience in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Professor Sarah Croke
I am the Convenor of Learning and Teaching in the School, and sit on SMT in this role. I work closely with the Deputy Convenor, Senior Adviser of Studies, and Class Heads to ensure the smooth running of learning and teaching activities in the School. I am a theoretical physicist and a member of the Quantum Theory research group.
Professor Ik Siong Heng
I'm on the SMT as Director of the Physics and Astronomy Graduate School. My role is to liaise on matters relating the graduate students and the Graduate School.
Angela Eden
As Head of Professional Services, I have responsibility for leading the School’s Professional Services team, and managing overall School operations and strategy across all of its core research and teaching activities.
Professor Stephen Barnett
I am a Royal Society Research Professor and head of the Quantum Theory Group. My principal roles on SMT are to represent research activities on the EPSRC funded research teams and to use my experience as an undergraduate external examiner at four institutions.
Professor Daniele Faccio
I am a Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies and Professor in quantum technologies. I am also the Director of Research for the School of Astronomy and Physics.
