OUR WORK: INFORMATION FOR UoG STAFF
Our main purpose is to train international students to learn and use English effectively for study and research. Our work falls into three broad areas:
- Preparing students for study through Pre-sessional Courses at UoG and Nankai University
- Supporting current students through In-sessional courses and workshops - (credit- bearing and non-credit bearing)
- Language teacher training and training for international academic staff
How can we help?
Signposting
If you have students on your programmes whose first language is not English, we can direct you to the services and resources available to support their English language development. We can create bespoke provision (short courses or workshops) if your students have specific needs that are not currently being met by existing services.
Advice
If you are thinking about recruiting international students to your programmes, we can advise on matters related to English language proficiency and Pre-sessional study.
Bespoke provision
If you anticipate recruiting 15+ international students to a specific programme and would like to commission a subject-specific summer bridging course, we would be happy to hear from you (see [link] for the bridging courses we currently offer).
