These appointments, which are all open-ended Research and Teaching Lectureships, span several different areas of the School.

Dr Claudia Dellacasa has joined us this session as a Lecturer in Italian and Comparative Literature. Claudia has been teaching since Semester 1, and among other activities has been working to set up a new Environmental Humanities reading group.

Dr Lisha (Lisa) Xu has taken up her post as a Lecturer in Translation Studies with Mandarin, attached to the MSc Translation Studies ran in partnership between the University of Glasgow and the University of Nankai, on which Lisa has recently delivered in-person teaching to students in Nankai.

An exciting round of appointments in the School is completed by the arrival of Dr Maya Feile Tomes as a Lecturer in Hispanic Studies. Maya comes to us from the University of Cambridge, where she was Lorne Close Lecturer in Spanish, via a visiting position at the Universidade Federal do Paraná in Brazil.

We wish Claudia, Lisa, and Maya very well for their work in these Lectureships, which build on a number of other new and replacement appointments made in SMLC in recent years.
