SMLC Film Club screenings will return in the new academic session, with screenings planned monthly from October – March. This year’s programme will include films from Chile, Italy, France and elsewhere. 
 
Attendance will once again be free, but ticketed (via bookitbee) and all are most welcome. 
The first film club event of 24-25 will take place on Wednesday 16th October in room 718 of 42 Bute Gardens (the former Adam Smith building) at 6pm. 
 
We will watch The Settlers [Los Colonos] (2023), a western drama/thriller which focuses on the colonisation and exploitation of Tierra del Fuego in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The film has won various international film festival prizes and was Chile’s entry to the 2024 Oscars.
