Dr Leslie, a registered nurse, joined Human Nutrition in 1997 after nine years research experience with the World Health Organisation MONICA project.

Since joining Human Nutrition her research has focused on adult obesity management interventions for weight loss and prevention of weight gain, and interventions to improve nutritional status in the undernourished frail elderly.

Her current role is coordinator for the Diabetes Remission Controlled Trial (DiRECT), the largest study ever funded by Diabetes UK.
