Biography
Nick delivers teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate audiences throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland with a particular focus on the practice and scholarship of active learning. He is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy.
Nick is The Learning and Teaching Lead for The British Society of Special Care Dentistry.
His current research activity focusses on the associations between the oral microbiome and head and neck cancer.
He was a member of the guidance development group for SDCEP, Management of Dental Patients Taking Anticoagulants or Antiplatelet Drugs, 2nd edition and Supporting access to oral health care and dental treatment for people with severe mental illness: a clinical guideline from the British Society of Special Care Dentistry, 1st edition 2024.
His clinical practice is undertaken throughout NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde at The Glasgow Royal Infirmary and The Royal Alexandra Hospital. He delivers care to people who experience impairment and/or disability with a particular interest in the medically complex/compromised and the provision of comprehensive care under general anaesthetic.
