Biography

Alun Scott graduated BDS with commendation from the University of Glasgow in 1988. He was the winner of the Dean Webster prize for the most distinguished graduate in his year.

Following House Officer appointments in Glasgow and a Senior House Officer position in Newcastle, Alun was appointed Dall Reasearch Fellow at Glasgow Dental Hospital, studying for a PhD in applied Dental Material Science and graduating in July 1994. During this period, he also obtained his FDSRCPS(Glas).

Alun subsequently worked in general dental practice but maintained his interest in academic dentistry through teaching as a visiting dental practitioner in Glasgow Dental School & Hospital and as a VT trainer in both Glasgow and Edinburgh schemes.

He was appointed to his present Clinical University Teacher post in February 2012.
