Biography
Dr Hani Alfheeaid is a former MMedSci and PhD graduate of the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at Qassim University in Saudi Arabia. By being a Honorary Clinical Fellow of the Medical School, Hani and colleagues are aiming to expand research cooperation leading to evidence-based promotion of healthy lifestyle diminishing prevalence of obesity and related-diseases in both Saudi Arabia and the UK.
This collaborative work between Glasgow and Qassim Universities will contribute to the achievement of goals targeted by the Saudi government within Transform 2020 and Vision 2030 initiative plans.
Hani’s collaborative research will focus on:
- Impact of habitual diet and physical activity on metabolic status and energy balance in Saudi individuals with enhanced risk for type II diabetes.
- Lifestyle interventions for prevention of obesity in groups with enhanced risk for type II diabetes.
