Christine graduated BDS(Hons) from Glasgow University in 2006. She joined the GDC paediatric dentistry specialist list in 2012 and gained her MSc by research in 2013 for work on “Oral disease in Vulnerable Children and the Dentist’s Role in Child Protection”. She became Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Glasgow Dental Hospital & School in 2016 after completing post CCST training at Guys’ Hospital and Glasgow Dental Hospital & School. She completed a PhD entitled “An investigation of the barriers to referral in child protection for dental team professionals through serious game design” and has created a serious board game in child protection and dentistry to help dental teams overcome their fears in this topic. This makes her one of only a handful of people who have dedicated this level of attention to the understanding of and support for colleagues in child protection in relation to dentistry. She was the deputy safeguarding rep for BSPD from 2018 to 2020. She is currently the Paediatric dentistry lead for BDS 2 and paediatric dentistry lead for pre-clinical skills.
