Cardiovascular disease in women
Cardiovascular disease is the commonest cause of death in post-menopausal women. Current research is focused on the effects of hormone replacement therapy on this problem, in collaboration with Professor J M C Connell and Professor A Dominiczak, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, University of Glasgow. The effects of smoking in pregnancy are also under investigation.
Maternal and fetoplacental vascular pathological processes associated with diabetic pregnancy are being studied.
