Study Design
Following a short observation period, all participants will consume the UC-TREAT diet, which consists of specific high-fibre foods, fermented foods, berries, and a multivitamin tablet. Participants with UC will be closely monitored throughout this study using questionnaires that assess their disease activity and gut symptoms. We collect blood, stool, and urine samples throughout to measure inflammatory markers and assess the gut microbiome composition and function before, during, and after the diet.
