Glasgow Paediatric Research Day 2022 Report
The 13th Glasgow Paediatric Research Day took place on Friday 4th November 2022 and was well attended by zoom webinar.
The programme featured an invited speakers' plenary session hosted by members of the paediatric Surgical and Oncology teams from the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.
Guest speakers included Professor Marc Wijnen, Radboud University Medical Centre, Nijmegen, who gave a presentation on "Innovations and image guided surgery in pediatric surgical oncology" and Dr Nicola Thorp, The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust, Wirral, who gave a presentation on "The role of Proton Beam Therapy in children".
Mr Michael Jacovides, from the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow, gave a presentation on "Innovation at RHC Glasgow".
Prize Winners
Prizes and certificates were awarded for best oral and poster presentations as follows.
- 1st Prize oral presentation - Dr Alexander Fletcher
- Runner-up Prize oral presetation - Nicholas Baughan
- 1st Prize poster presentation - Dr Alexander Harper
- Runner-up Prize poster presentation - Sol Olivera
Certificates of attendance were issued following completion of short online feedback survey.
