Glasgow Paediatric Research Day 2021 - Report
The 12th Glasgow Paediatric Research Day was held on Friday 5th November 2021, by Zoom Webinar.
The format comprised of short presentations and e-posters, selected from submitted abstracts as well as a featured invited speakers' session on Exercise, Wellbeing and Congenital Heart Disease hosted by Professor Mark Danton.
Presentations included:
Outcome of Congenital Diseases of the Heart in Adult Life - Embracing a Continuum of Change by Dr Gruschen Veltdman, NHS Golden Jubilee Hospital, Glasgow
Cochrane Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Exercise Interventions for Congenital Heart Disease by Professor Rod Taylor, University of Glasgow
Physical Fitness in Children with Congenital Heart Disease Versus Healthy Population by Dr Mahmoud Zaqout, Antwerp University Hospital
Prizes were awarded for 1st and Runner-Up oral and e-poster presentations. A recording of the day's presentations together with e-posters will be available to view until the end of this year. Access passcode for the recording is =M-6gUps

e-Poster 1st Prize awarded to: Caroline Kerbiriou, Postgradauate Research Student, University of Glasgow for her poster, Faecal IgE in infants with non-IgE mediated Cow's Milk Protein Allergy; a first glimpse into its pathophysiology
e-Poster runner-up prize awarded to: Malcolm Scott-Watson, Undergraduate MB ChB Student, University of Glasgow, for his poster, An in-depth look into the incidence and severity of paediatric cholesteatomas in relation to socioeconomic deprivation
