2021 RCPCH Prize
Final year MB ChB student, Beatrice Milligan, was successful in her application for nomination on behalf of the School of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing, for the 2021 RCPCH Prize.
2021 Yorkhill Portfolio Prize
The 2021 Yorkhill Portfolio prize of £750 and Yorkhill Medal was awarded to final year MB ChB student, Hannah Martin. The runner-up prize of £250 was awarded to Amy Turnbull.
2021 Yorkhill Essay Prize
The 2021 Yorkhill Essay prize of £750 was awarded to Year 1 MB ChB student, Carla Shaw, for her essay entitled, "Assessment of the Impact of Childhood Poverty on Paediatric Health and Wellbeing in Scotland"
The runner up prize of £250 was awarded to Year 2 MB ChB student, Meghan Minnis, for her essay entitled, "The Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences and Toxic Stress"
2021 Hall Prize
The 2021 Hall Prize in Child Health was awarded to final year MB ChB student, Ian Wilson.
Postgraduate Prizes
2021 Harry Stewart Hutchinson Prize
Dr Ross Langley was awarded the 2021 Harry Stewart Hutchinson Prize for the paper entitled, "Indirect Effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic on Paediatric Healthcare use and Severe Disease : A Retrospective National Cohort Study" published in Archives of Diesease in Childhood
2021 Yorkhill Postgraduate Research Prize
Joint 1st prize was awarded to Dr Joseph Symonds and Katherine S. Elliot for the paper entitled, "Early childhood epilepsies : epidemiology, classification, aetiology and socio-economic determinants" Published in Brain (Oxford University Press)
Runner up prize was awarded to Shona McKirdy for the paper entitled, "Handgrip strength as a surrogate marker of lean mass and risk of malnutrition in paediatric patients" Published in Clinical Nutrition
