What is CBL?
Case Based Learning (CBL) is a form of small group teaching which incorporates group discussion of clinical cases led by a tutor. It aims to integrate prior and newly acquired knowledge and involves collaboration with your peers, develops critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills among the group members. Clinical cases are presented to the group of 10-13 students, guided by an expert tutor who teach and also help clarify any questions arising from the lectures or independent research students carry out during the week. There are two CBL sessions per week and these provide a great opportunity to summarise the week's topic and contextualise learning.
