CMBE 2017
SofTMech members are involved in organsing three minisymposia for the CMBE 2017 in Pittsburgh (http://www.compbiomed.net/2017/). These are:
- “Integrative modelling of soft-tissue mechanobiology” – Paul Watton, Ray Ogden, Anne Robertson, Namrata Gundiah, and Mark Thompson.
- “Biomechanics, Mechanobilogy and Translation in the heart” – David Nordsletten, Dominique Chapelle, Jack Lee, Xiaoyu Luo, Ellen Kuhl, Alfio Quarteroni, and Mariano Vazquez.
- “Biological valve function and dynamics” – Raoul van Loon, Xiaoyu Luo, and Michael Sacks.
Past Events
The Centre for Mathematics Applied to Life Sciences (CMALS) held an Early Career Researcher Symposium on Friday 2nd December. The event comprised 24 short talks from ECRs in life sciences from across University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde. The event also included a plenary talk from Dr Paul Morris, NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology at University of Sheffield.
Scottish Operator Algebras Research (SOAR)
The 7th Scottish Operator Algebras Research Meeting funded by the Glasgow Mathematical Journal Trust took place in Glasgow on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd December combined with a meeting on topological dynamics and operator algebras funded by the London Mathematical Society to celebrate Dr Mike Whittaker's appointment as a lecturer. 32 participants from across the UK enjoyed eight talks over the two days.
The next Scottish Operator Algebras Meeting will take place in Glasgow on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th March 2017.
