We all know the results of the American political election at this point. However, in the run-up to the election the School’s own Dr Liberty Vittert, with STV, filmed "Liberty's Guide to the American Election". The first half of the piece was about the history that America and Scotland share in terms of politics and the second was about this particular election. A main focus was on the statistics of the electoral college. Liberty said:

“We filmed around Ashton Lane and the main campus talking to different people on the street. It was really interesting to hear all the different views that the students had! We then sat down with Professor of Politics, Chris Carman, to see what he thought of this election. His prediction was that the race was going to be very close and that Trump would need to overcome a lot to win.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience filming and getting to learn a bit more about the history of Scotland and America.”
