Beyond Grothendieck groups of stable categories

Abstract
In their article "Cartan matrices and Grothendieck groups of stable categories" Tachikawa and Wakamatsu describe the Grothendieck group of the stable category of a Frobenius algebra. I'll discuss how their description can be extended to the higher algebraic K-theory in certain cases. This will serve as the backdrop for a sketch of the landscape surrounding noncommutative motives (or at least a, perhaps foolhardy, attempt at one). Any part of this that makes sense is joint work with Sira Gratz.
