Representations of Rieffel-deformed C*-algebras and deformations of Borchers triples

Abstract

In this talk, I will report on certain deformations of systems of C*- and von Neumann algebras that are closely related to Rieffel's deformation procedure based on an automorphic action of R^n, and go under the name of "warped convolutions". The main interest in this structure derives from applications in quantum field theory (Borchers triples), where warped convolutions are used to describe theories on non-commutative spaces, and are an example of constructing interacting theories in an operator-algebraic setting.
