Abstract
The Elliott classification programme is about classifying separable, nuclear C*-algebras by K-theoretic (and tracial) invariants. In the special case where the C*-algebras are purely infinite, major contributions were made by Kirchberg and Phillips in the simple case, and by Kirchberg in the non-simple case. However, in the non-simple, purely infinite case, it is not known what the correct K-theoretic invariant should be, mainly due to lack of UCT's. I will give an overview of some of the results in this area, and present some new results. In particular, I will present classification results using the non-stable K_0-semigroup V(-) as invariant.
