Braid group actions on coideal subalgebras of quantum groups

Abstract
It was noted recently by Molev and Ragoucy that the nonstandard quantum enveloping algebra of so(N) allows an action of the classical braid group. This action was independently discovered by Chekhov within the theory of quantum Teichmueller space. In this talk we interpret and generalize this action by relating it to quantum group analogs of symmetric Lie algebras.
