Recursion operators, conservation laws and integrability conditions for difference equations

Abstract

In this talk we'll give a consistent background and definitions suitable for the theory of integrable difference equations. We adapt a concept of recursion operator to difference equations. Similar to the case of partial differential equations these canonical densities generated by the recursion operator can serve as integrability conditions for difference equations. We also present the recursion operators for Adler's equation in the Viallet form. This is the joint work with Alexander V. Mikhailov and Pavlos Xenitidis.
