Abstract
A public key cryptosystem is a way of sending messages securely where knowledge of the enciphering process does not make a message significantly easier to decode. The security of the system is based on the difficulty of some mathematical problem. In this talk I will describe some of the problems which can be used and show in some examples how they can be implemented.
