Abstract
Several counting problems lead to Diophantine equations of the form f(x)=g(y). A recent remarkable theorem is due to Bilu & Tichy makes Siegel's classical theorem on integral points on curves more explicit. We use this theorem and Chebotarev density theorem to prove finiteness theorems for integral solutions of several equations of the form f(x)=g(y).
