Abstract
Asymptotic analysis is a classical modelling approach for an adhesive joint, described as two elastic bodies bonded together by a thin layer of glue. Some results are presented showing that the presence of the glue can asymptotically be modeled by an imperfect interface law, prescribing the jumps of the traction vector and of the displacement vector across the adhesive surface. Depending on the material of the glue, different effects may arise in the interface law, like non locality, non linearity or damage.
