W-algebras and Lax type operators

Abstract

In the talk we will introduce the notion of W-algebras. In the so-called "quantum finite" case, these are certain associative algebras obtained via Hamiltonian reduction. It will be shown how to canonically associate to these algebras an object called Lax operator which allow to relate them to certain type of Yangians.
