Abstract

Electrical excitability is a fundamental physiological process, which enables cells and biological tissue to communicate and be controlled. Electrophysiology is the study of these electrical properties. This talk will introduce how electrophysiological properties are mathematically modelled, from the Hodgkin-Huxley equations for single cell models to the bidomain model for cardiac tissue.
