Journal of Legal History
Mark Godfrey, Professor of Legal History, serves on the editorial committee of The Journal of Legal History. From 2011 to 2015 he served as Editor, in succession to Dr Neil Jones of Magdalene College, Cambridge. The current Editor is Prof Chantal Stebbings of the University of Exeter.
The Journal of Legal History was established in 1980 and is dedicated to publication on the sources and development of the common law, both in the British Isles and overseas, on the history of the laws of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, and on Roman Law and the European legal tradition. It is the leading European journal in the field published in English, and carries articles, notes, book reviews, and conference reports.
